A compact hallway bench that solves two problems at once: somewhere to sit and somewhere to put shoes. Six open cubbies underneath hold three pairs each side, so the daily rotation is visible and easy to grab. One drawer on top handles keys, dog leads and the things that need to land when you walk in. The seat is upholstered in black tweed — practical for a hallway because it doesn't show dirt the way lighter fabrics do. At 80cm wide, it fits most hallways without dominating the space.

About this piece
The Baulk is built from solid mango wood with an oak-ish finish and sits on four turned bun feet. The frame is a single unit — shelf, drawer and seat all joined, not bolted together from flat-pack panels. The black tweed upholstery is tightly woven for durability in a high-traffic area, and the drawer runs on wooden runners with a polished knob pull. The six shoe cubbies are open-fronted for ventilation and easy access. At 36cm deep and 80cm wide, it sits flush against a wall without blocking the walkway.
